Nanjing Olympic Museum
Due to the opportunity of holding the second Nanjing Youth Olympic Games in 2014, the Olympic Museum was established with the theme of "Hundred Years of Fire, Youthful Nanjing", aiming at promoting the long, extensive and rich connotation of the Olympics and carrying forward its spiritual values of “excellence, friendship and respect”. It is a good place for outdoor training, entertaining and learning as well as parent-child study trip.
Nanjing Eye Footbridge Square
Covering an area of about 2,300 square metres, Nanjing Eye Footbridge Square is one of the main areas where events and festivals are held by the park. It is also one of the first choices for creating a "night economy". It has held many big events time and again, such as Youth Olympic art lantern festivals, music festival in summer, Party for Great Guys, etc. On basement-1 of the square is the Nanjing Olympic Museum, and on basement-2 and basement-3 is the underground three-dimensional transportation system composed of the Yangtze River Avenue Tunnel and the main line of the Meizizhou Crossing Tunnel respectively.
Flag Square
In the square hang 204 flags from countries and regions participating in the Youth Olympic Games as well as from event organizers. At the bottom of each flagpole is a national flag of a different country with its name in both Chinese and English. The neatly arranged flagpoles, like a stainless steel forest, pierce the sky, revealing the fortitude of the industrial age and unique design of the post-industrial era.
Jiajiang Imprint
Surface runoff flows in and supplements landscape water through the purification of pebbles, recycled glass and hydrophilic plants. After being purified, it is used as landscape replenishment, and the water overflows the drop water weir and flows into the Yangtze River. This making full use of the relationship between hydrology and plants reflects the infinite yearning and pursuit of mankind for nature.
Heavenly Pool
The water of Heavenly Pool originates from urban rivers and provides water sources for the Green Brook, the Maple Brook, the Magnolia Brook, Jiajiang Imprint and the Wetland Garden. It uses the mirror-like water surface to reflect clouds, stars and the surrounding beautiful scenery. The water flows into the Yangtze River after being filtered and purified.
Yangtze River Memory
Covering an area of about 2,000 square metres, it has 43 transparent LED shaped lampposts that mark the water level of the Yangtze River in Nanjing over the years. Here, visitors can feel the changes in the water level of the Yangtze River in the past 100 years. The red weathering steel in the lower part of the lamp beads represents the highest water level of the flood in a certain year. It can be seen that the highest water level in the "memory" of the Yangtze River occurred in 1954, namely, 10.22 meters, while the warning line was 8.5 metres. The project was constructed in 2014, and the current highest water level is 10.31 metres in 2020.
Nanjing Eye Footbridge
"Nanjing Eye" is the first landscape pedestrian bridge across Jiajiang of the Yangtze River in Nanjing. It is a cable-stayed bridge with two steel towers, double cable planes and steel girders, spanning 240 metres. The bridge is 827.5 metres long in total, the main bridge 531.5 metres long, and the approach bridge 296 metres long. Taking a stroll through this new landmark of Nanjing, visitors can enjoy the charm of night scene in fashionable Nanjing.
North Gate Entrance
Magnolia Brook
Along the central part on both sides of the brook, large tracts of magnolia flowers are planted, and lythrum, calamus and other aquatic flowers are also planted here. Visitors can feel the joy of being on the side of the clear brook under the forest while enjoying its beauty. The brook adds humidity and oxygen to the surrounding environment before flowing into the wetland garden.
Wetland Garden
Here, the countryside and the city contrast finely with each other, like a pastoral song in the city. The garden looks fresh and refined, and stands tall and erect against the artistic twin towers. Surrounded by the pavilions and eaves of the He Garden, it appears to be simple and pure, cordial and soft.
Lawn for Play
Covering an area of about 7000 square meters, the lawn is a comprehensive place for citizens to view the river, enjoy leisure and engage in recreation.
