A Brief Introduction to Nanjing Eye Tourist Zone in Hexi, Nanjing
Located on the axis of the Youth Olympic Games in Hexi New Town, Jianye District, Nanjing, Nanjing Hexi Nanjing Eye Tourist Zone has the two major characteristics of "Riverside" and "Youth Olympics". It is a comprehensive scenic spot with ecological, cultural, sports and recreational functions. The scenic area starts from Hexi Avenue in the north, to Jiangning Water Plant in the south, to the west of Yangtze River Avenue, and to the east of Jiajiang of the Yangtze River. It has a length of 1.8 kilometres along the river bank and an area of about 45.5 hectares. The scenic area was designed by the internationally renowned landscape firm SWA from the U.S.A.
The Nanjing Eye Tourist Area in Hexi, Nanjing creates an atmosphere suitable for viewing the river by combining the environmental improvement of the river bank with the restoration of ecological system on the river beach. There are waterfront plank roads and trestle bridges along the river. Many themed activity areas and scenic spots have been set up, including market square, viewing lawns, Jiajiang imprint, bamboo picnic area, cultural square lawn, and Yangtze River memory, and supporting facilities like service rooms, public toilets, parking lots have been built, too.
Located on the east side of the north entrance of the tourist area, its tourist centre provides tourists with the following services: free consultation, free borrowing of books, seating area, touch-screen inquiry, mobile phone charging, wireless WIFI, drinking water, etc. It also offers special services like baby care rooms and tourist reception room. All of these embody the "people-oriented" service concept. The tourist centre introduces the scenic spots in the area and various convenience services to tourists through photos and videos.
